Shopping sustainably – that’s stylish.
Sustainability in the fashion industry is still a relatively new and difficult concept. Virtually no label can guarantee it right along the production chain. My motto for shopping with style and a clear conscience is: avoid cheap clothes and bulk purchases, and seek out particular brands and well-made items that fit perfectly and will meet your needs for some time to come. Sometimes it’s a question of combining the little designer boutique around the corner and the well-organised second-hand shop; I know the best places to go.
Incidentally, there are some interesting labels which are already producing clothes in accordance with global environmentally-friendly standards and ethical principles. Perhaps you’re curious about them and interested in finding out what else to look out for in order to be a sustainable shopper.
